This year it WILL be different, I promised myself last year and I hid the photos so that no one could see! The attempt I made trying to get the look of a zombie was pathetic! Especially in the presence of all those other excellent Halloween outfits.

I even went online to get tips on how to do the fake skin and bone stuff. It looked so easy on the YouTube video but I just about managed to get the face paint on and it looked rubbish! The clothing I tried to use some charity shop finds which were cheap enough to destroy but just didn’t look ‘right’.
Anyway, I ran out of time and had to go with what I had. I left the house looking scary – but not for the right reasons!! If I had had any sense I would have phoned my mates and told them I was sick.

As I got out of the taxi at Sarah’s house I realised that almost everyone else had bought some or all of their costume and either added to it or just put it on and that was that. The range of zombie costumes at the party was far out – could have been a scene from Michael Jackson’s thriller video.

The vampiresses and vampires costumes were sexy and the guy in the ninja fancy dress costume was odd but cool – he obviously knew some martial arts moves watching him dance!

So as I say this year will be different – I have started to look online and research what I want to be this year. I have saved a little money for the ‘right’ costume and with a little more research and a few more beers with the guys I am going out with, we will come up with a better look and we are going to look fine and cool on the night.
