The last time I went to Russia was actually not too long ago… It was early this year, March to be exact, to see the premier fashion showcase in Moscow, the RFW or the Russian Fashion Week, where they launched their 18th season in Congress Hall of renowned World Trade Center last March 29th. It was the biggest fashion event in Eastern Europe and they were able to feature 50 collections of the best Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian designers together with some of the best names in Italian, Spanish and French fashion. It was really a wonderful event, too bad I wasn’t exactly in my best financial situation that time and I wasn’t able to afford buy myself some of the stuff that they were showcasing that time, and the only reason that I was able to get there was because of my passion for Russian fashion. In a few weeks, we are going back to the country, Moscow Metro to be exact, to go to the maks-2009 air show as part of the Incredible Trip package that we were able to get, and this time I will be prepared. There may not be any RFW this time but I will get my chic clothes this time.

What will I do this summer? First, it’s the time where I could splurge into the crystal blue ocean, swim as carefree as I want with and flaunt my branded collection of swimsuits. It’s also the easiest way to have my skin sun tanned, I don’t have to go to spa and spend like a half day or more. However, I do this stuff almost every year and sometimes I want to have more. I want it to be more adventurous, sweat cracking, challenging, unique and something green. Right, I would try mountain outdoors! I have to find a backpack, a pair of top quality hiking boots and hiking socks. They said sandals or moccasins are also good but then I’d go for boots for ultimate protection. All I have to do is shop, go for my preferred brands and of course make sure that even I’m wearing those gears, I would still be as fashionable, sexy and sassy; and that’s what I call fun!

They say that fashion should be for everyone and not just for the aesthetically gifted people. Fashion designers should know, or at least start knowing that people have different sizes, looks and even charismas, so they should see to it that their line of clothing can be capable of being worn by anyone that cares to buy them. I find it a little unethical that these fashion designers would only concentrate on what the slim people would wear, and not give a bit of attention to the larger community that consist of plus-sized people. They should understand that while advocating against obesity is a good thing, they should still create some designs that would fit that populace. Not people are from Russia, where women seemed to come straight from Aphrodite’s womb… we have different looks and different tastes… which reminds me, I was able to find some adventure travel packages to go to Russia to have a jet pilot lesson in one of their Mig 29. It should be a good opportunity to get a good feel of life, as well as of course, the fashion in the country. After summer, we should start having cold weather already, so it would be best to check the fashion trends in there to be worn by winter.

Fashion week at a working place… Sounds funny, isn’t it? But how nice it would be to have a boss who understood that such step would be very important for team building and for attracting customers’ attention. And advertising specialties used during this fashion week would bring a lot more customers.

What do we usually see when we enter offices of different companies. There are people wearing formal clothes and sitting with serious and strained faces. Isn’t it better to open the door and see a lot of smiling faces, employees who are wearing corporate apparel, because they are having a fashion week? It is so nice to deal with the most serious issues with professionals who can work hard and make customers pleased at the same time.

I was checking out some new movies for this year when I suddenly saw a picture of a beautiful Indian woman, whom I didn’t know at first, but turns out that she is a member of the Pink Panther cast, which is of course lead be Steve Martin. It was the Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai and I was actually looking at the premiere of The Pink Panther 2 at New York City’s Ziegfeld Theater last February 3, 2009. She decided to keep things classic in black long dress, with a plunging neck line and I think it was a pearl necklace that she was wearing. Anyway, I also checked some comments on the said website and I was surprised that there weren’t much haters leaving their comments in there. Most of them are positive remarks towards her saying that she really is beautiful and some are even comparing her to Angelina Jolie with regards to her looks. Well, come to think of it, she really is beautiful even though she’s already 35 years old. She was also able to carry the dress very well and she was also beautiful in the movie. Another Indian beauty to look forward to in Hollywood films.

Jewelry… a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from gemstones, precious metals or other materials, that seems to be always very popular to all the ladies. Personally, I don’t really see why women are getting crazy when it comes to this type of thing that makes them want more even though they already had enough… but then again I am a man. As I roughly remember, my mom used to keep a lot of jewelry in her box, until the time that she sold them, inside their room and as I recall, nobody was really allowed to get near that box because it contains expensive stones, necklaces and earrings that always gives my mom gleams whenever she put them on. Some people even keep them insured while some uses them for investment and keep them for as long as they can, then sell them when they need the money, like what my mom did, which is basically the reason why she was able to buy herself her own car. For others, they keep their jewelry and make it a family treasure that gets passed from one generation to another. Whatever it is that makes people love these things, one thing is certain… I just can’t imagine the world without jewelry.

With the issue of global warming going higher than ever, some in the fashion industry decided to come up with clothes that will support the fight against global warming, by coming up with a line of clothing with all sorts of shade of the color green. From clothes, bags, shoes and even jewelry, you name it, they have it. There are even some apparel coming out that is all about the green stuff, and I’m not talking about the money. I visited the website and they have come up with “recycle shirts” that also look great. From the website itself, it says “Save environment» now! Global warming is a fact. Everybody knows it. Everybody knows the cause of global warming and the effects of global warming. And we have to tell the truth about global warming. Unfortunately disasters are on the way… The global warming climate change can cause an incensement of oceans and generally water level. To get a global warming picture you might know that Holland will sink under the sea level! So we have to stop or even reduce the green house effect global warming. I guess it really is about time that we all do something for the environment. Even in fashion, we need to create things that would be nature friendly and will stir up things so we could finally have everyone caring.

I was surprised when I tried searching for some male Hollywood fashion and I found out that Jude Law will be cross-dressing as supermodel Minx in his upcoming movie, Rage, which will be out later this year. According to the article, director Sally Potter writes about the vision of her movie on blog: “Part of the subject matter of Rage is the ugly use of beauty in the pursuit of profit. Drugged by marketing, sapped by fear of aging, conned by the cult of celebrity… image becomes all.” So expect a different Jude Law on this film and it could be a little crazy to digest. Sally Potter also talks about the 36-year-old British actor as a transvestite: “Jude Law, whose beauty has sometimes been held against him as an actor, made the courageous decision to accept the role of Minx - a ‘celebrity super-model’ and took on a kind of hyper-beauty for this persona… a ‘female’ beauty which gradually unravels as the story unfolds. Strangely, the more he became a ’she’, coiffed and made-up - the more naked was his performance. There was great strength in his willingness to make himself vulnerable. It was an extraordinarily intense part of the shoot.”
